Applications for the AFECO program are recommended for our yearly program start in October (winter semester), but if necessary applications can also be submitted for a program start in April (summer semester). Important: only applicants who fulfill all our admission criteria can be admitted (check the section "Admission" below). Our program is targetting students with a demonstrated background in applied economics and business economics, as reflected in our admission criteria. Please always apply via our online application platform, where you will be guided to complete the application forms and to submit the necessary documents. You can prepare some of those in advance, looking at points 01 - 07 below.
THREE TIPS FOR A TIMELY APPLICATION
Start in the winter semester
The application period opens on December 1st (of the previous year) and closes on July 15th (of the same year). Early evaluations are carried out on Freburary 15th (the recommended deadline for international students requiring an entry visa for Germany). Applications submitted between February 16th and July 15th will be evaluated after July 15th.
Start in the summer semester
The application period opens on July 1st (of the previous year) and closes on January 15th (of the same year), with an interruption in the whole month of November (system maintenance). Early evaluations are carried out on September 15th (the recommended deadline for international students requiring an entry visa for Germany). Applications submitted between September 16th and January 15th will be evaluated after January 15th.
Re-applying
Applicants who received an admission letter for a previous semester, but could not start the program in time, and who wish to re-apply can do so via a simplified procedure. They need their previous admission letter. They are also advised to re-apply as soon as the new application period opens, in order to maximize the chances of a successfull visa application.
